Today being a Saturday and you know some of us have to prepare sumptuous meals, hmmm, well most times we just plain run out of ideas, i cant count how many time, first of what to prepare and then how to prepare some of our favorite foods. Simply put,we constantly need to update our recipe banks, whatever, for some types of food we love eating most.

The same thing happened to me during the week. I love chicken a lot and most times I "bully" hubby to buy me chicken and chips on his way back from work. so on Tuesday when i tried my usual trick on him,he decided to play a fast one on me by buying frozen chicken and uncooked potatoes for me to prepare my own favorite treat menh!!!!!! I was not happy at all, but i decided to surprise him by coming up with this recipe am about to share with you guys. MY NEIGHBOUR'S GENERATOR WON'T RUIN MY BEAUTIFUL FRIDAY

I woke up this morning with a nagging headache due to usual menacing noise from my neighbor's generator that torment us all night. The guy is such a gen freak! what the h'll? He puts his gen on standby so that as soon as the "NEPA's" light goes off, his gen automatically comes on. I have nothing against standby generators per say, but this guy's gen can make noise and fume. The worse part is, despite the fact that he lives in another compound, the gen is right by my bedroom window; facing my window so directly that whenever the gen is on my hell experience begins and it doesn't matter what time of day "NEPA" decides to take the light his gen comes on. Most times i wonder if he doesn't go to work and funny part is- this guy is so arrogant and full of himself that he actually wears Bluetooth to sleep because every time he goes to add fuel into his gen at night,he still has that Bluetooth in his ears! hehehehe, wahala wa o.

How many of you got to hear bedtime stories as kids?  I did, especially those witty ones about the tortoise and the lion and other great stories. I am dangerously worried that i may not have enough to tell my kids since the culture of telling bedtime stories is gradually been replaced by games and internet. This worries me a lot because i know it is one way to bond with your kids and to kindle their interest in reading.
Since i know am not the only one in this space, the Cynthia Kalu Book Club have decided to #bringbackthebedtimestories to this blog. every evening till my arms fall off i will share a bedtime story, which you can read to your kids but we have to make a pact, okay?  that for every story i share, you guys will come back to share how your kids reacted to the story and if it has had any positive impact on them.

You know how they say that a child's life is full of mischief and silliness? Well, I found mine as a young girl in reading novels and watching movies (lots of them); many times late into the night. I can't even begin to tell you all the trouble they got me into but I remember this one incident I burnt my hair while reading with a candle,because of how interesting the novel was, I didn't even know my hair was on fire until my mum came and saw her daughter literally on fire while smiling into a book;you can imagine the beating I received and having to live with a shaved head. Well anything worthwhile has a price. 

Reading is one thing I love doing. I also love sharing the stories with friends and relatives,but as time went by I stopped the reading and late night movies because of a lot of reasons; at first it was school and it pressure,then being a wife and mother,career and stuff etc. But...
